Saulo & Yasmim are known for their unique Brazilian Zouk style while incorporating contemporary movement and contact improvisation, all while respecting the traditions of Brazilian Zouk and Lambada. Saulo Dias, a graduate in Physical Education and Dance, has been researching the body of Zouk for over 10 years, incorporating various alternative techniques. He has taught classes in more than 10 states across Brazil and in over 6 countries worldwide. Saulo is passionate about the fusion of movement and science, often exploring how biomechanics and physical conditioning can enhance dance performance. His dedication to understanding the physical aspects of Zouk has made him a sought-after instructor, known for his clear explanations and innovative teaching methods. He is also recognized for his work in developing footwork variations, such as the “crossback,” and his shelving techniques that use different points of contact for head movement variations.
Yasmim is an international artist who began her journey with Brazilian Zouk more than 12 years ago and has never stopped dancing since. In 2019, she joined the Geração Lambada group, where she had the opportunity to study Lambada more deeply, making it one of her favorite dance styles. During her training as a teacher at Arthur Murray Brasília, Yasmim gained experience in various international dance styles, including West Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Waltz, East Coast Swing, and more. One of her greatest achievements was becoming the World Champion in the Original Category. Today, Yasmim travels the world sharing her knowledge about Brazilian Zouk and her passion for dance.
Both artists have exceptional talent in combining their skills, creating a unique experience for their students. They are particularly known for their technique on footwork variations such as the “crossback” and their shelving technique using various points of contact for head movement variations. Saulo and Yasmim approach dance through the lens of the four elements—earth, wind, water, and fire. Earth represents groundedness and stability in their movements, wind reflects fluid transitions and lightness, water embodies adaptability and flow, and fire signifies passion and intensity. This elemental approach brings depth and diversity to their dance, making each performance dynamic and expressive. Their workshops are transformative experiences, helping dancers connect with these elements and express themselves fully on the dance floor.
